چکیده

Different ZnO nanostructured films were electrochemically grown, using an aqueous solution based on ZnCl2, on three types of transparent conductive oxides grow on commercial ITO (In2O3:Sn)-covered glass substrates: (1) ZnO prepared by spin coating, (2) ZnO prepared by direct current magnetron sputtering, and (3) commercial ITO-covered glass substrates. Although thin, these primary oxide layers play an important role on the properties of the nanostructured films grown on top of them. Additionally, these primary oxide layers prevent direct hole combination when used in optoelectronic devices. Structural and optical characterizations were carried out by scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and optical transmission spectroscopy. We show that the properties of the ZnO nanostructured films depend strongly on the type of primary oxide-covered substrate used. Previous studies on different electrodeposition methods for nucleation and growth are considered in the final discussion.

Fabrication and properties of ZnO/GaN heterostructure nanocolumnar thin film on Si (111) substrate

Zinc oxide thin films have been obtained on bare and GaN buffer layer decorated Si (111) substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD), respectively. GaN buffer layer was achieved by a two-step method. The structure, surface morphology, composition, and optical properties of these thin films were investigated by X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, infrared absorption s...

Enhanced Physical Properties Of Indium Tin Oxide Films Grown on Zinc Oxide-Coated Substrates

Structural, electrical and optical properties of indium tin oxide or ITO (In2O3:SnO2) thin films on different substrates are investigated. A 100-nm-thick pre-deposited zinc oxide (ZnO) buffer layer is utilized to simultaneously improve the electrical and optical properties of ITO films. High purity ZnO and ITO layers are deposited with a radio frequency sputtering in argon ambient with plasma p...

A Study of ZnO Buffer Layer Effect on Physical Properties of ITO Thin Films Deposited on Different Substrates

The improvement of the physical properties of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) layers is quite advantageous in photovoltaic applications. In this study the ITO film is deposited by RF sputtering onto p-type crystalline silicon (c-Si) with (100) orientation, multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si), and glass substrates coated with ZnO and annealed in vacuum furnace at 400°C. Electrical, optical, structural a...

Electrodeposition of Nanostructured ZnO Thin Film: A Review

In this review paper, a critical analysis was carried out to investigate the effect of cathodic potential, bath temperature, time and nature of substrates on the ZnO thin films synthesized by electrodeposition technique. XRD patterns of the various deposited films were studied to examine the structural characteristics of the Nanostructured ZnO thin films. From the XRD patterns of the different ...

Optical properties of nanocolumnar ZnO crystals

Oriented nanocolumnar ZnO single crystals were prepared by the electrodeposition technique on conducting glass substrates by using different growth parameters. A factorial design at two levels of three growth parameters such as current density, exposition time and temperature of the bath has been used to study their influence on the height of ZnO columns. The average height of the Zn nanocolumn...
